In the 1970s, a few visionary French nurserymen, convinced of the importance of innovation for the future of French production, united French growers around this project. Thus was born in 1974, Sapho, the Syndicat d'Amélioration des Plantes Horticoles d'Ornement (Syndicate for the Improvement of Ornamental Horticultural Plants).
